Headquartered in Clonee, Co Meath, Drummonds is a leading supplier of agronomy services and agricultural inputs across the North East of Ireland. Annually at harvest the business processes more than 100,000 tonnes of native grain across eight locations, with manufacturing facilities for seeds and animal feeds in Drogheda and Navan.
We now wish to appoint a qualified Agronomist with the ability to work on their own initiative to support our customers in all aspects of arable and forage crop production in the Dublin, Meath and Louth areas.
The Role:
The Agronomist will be a leading member of the Drummonds Agronomy team with responsibility for:
- Providing customers with technical advice and support on Crop Production, including Seed Selection, Crop Nutrition, Crop Protection, Soil Nutrition and Forage Conservation and Utilisation.
- Delivering ambitious growth strategies across the territory to new and existing customers for a leading range of high-quality products including agro-chemicals, liquid/granular fertiliser, bio-stimulants, forage additives, cereal/grass seeds, animal feed and soil conditioning/lime products;
- Provide support to research and development trials at our research farm.
The Person:
- Ideally educated to degree level in Agriculture, Agriculture with Crop Science, Agri Business or similar;
- Be IASIS qualified with a proven track record in providing agronomy and technical sales support to arable farmers;
- Have a comprehensive understanding of the Irish agricultural industry, including knowledge of arable and mixed farming sectors;
- Have excellent communication and negotiating skills and be able to communicate with farmers and colleagues;
- Have excellent business acumen and commercial awareness with a strong can-do attitude;
- Be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a busy team;
- Hold a full driving licence.
